PPO Health Insurance
PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization. This plan is a little more expensive than the HMO health insurance. A PPO plan functions the same as a HMO insurance with the exception that you are not restricted to just a primary care physician. This flexibility is why the cost of healthcare is more. Insurers usually have deals with their in-network doctors on pricing for health services. So by going out of the network, insurers sometimes have to pay more out of their pocket. As a result, health insurance plans tend to have a limit on how much out of network services are covered.
